I started in photography in 1994, as a hobby, prior to the age of digital photography. My camera brand of choice was Minolta. The advances being made in film technology made me stick with 35 mm film rather than going to large format photography. I primarily photographed family and friends. My wife got a little tired of being my primary model, but hey she’s a beautiful woman. I am a self taught photographer. I have had a home studio, a home lab, which I would spend hours in, relaxing while developing my own images. I have read countless books, studied numerous photographers and shot ALOT of film. I officially started my photography business in 1995, focusing on senior portraits and family photography. I photographed my first wedding that year as well. I continued my focus on photographing people through the film media until 2002 then tried digital capture.
I am a member of several professional photographer forums. I have attended and will continue to attend workshops and seminars, that have helped my photography to continually grow, change, stretch and develop. This has kept photography fun and new for me. Photography is not a job to me, it is my creative outlet. I have been fortunate to photograph people around the world. I have photographed models in Jamaica, Canada, Amsterdam, Greece, of course the United States of America and Rio de Janeiro.
Photography has afforded me the opportunity to meet new and different people. I love it when I am out and I run into people whose wedding portraits or family photos I have taken. I feel I have made many friends through my photography. A lot of my clients have been repeat customers in the sense that I photographed their senior portraits. In turn, I photographed their wedding, maternity, baby and family photographs. It is my goal to photograph their childrens senior photos as well. And I want to thank all of you out there that have worked with me over the years and have given me the privilege of documenting the happy times of your lives.
My goal in photography is to stay current with photographic technologies and trends, combining them with traditional techniques, skills and my own personal “flava” (flavor).
When choosing a photographer it is important that you choose one that first of all enjoys what he or she does.
